Total weight loss during the 7 day fast: 5.1 kg / 11.2 lbs

So, I actually did it. For 7 days. It feels kind of crazy to not have eaten anything for a week. I have to say it wasn’t really as hard as I expected. The first 1-3 days were the hardest, and after that it was downhill. I kind of didn’t really feel the need to actually eat anymore, but I did miss food. The last days of the fast I didn’t have any side effects, and I actually was feeling pretty good. It was actually really easy to keep going too, because it was about not doing something, not doing something. Get it?

Anyway, I’m really happy about the weight loss, the detox, and that I’ve cleansed my body of lots of junk. I am definitely going to do this about 2 times a year, because the benefits are really noticeable. But for now, I’m going to enjoy some solids for the time being.

The first day of eating solids again was a bit challenging. I got extremely full just by eating a banana. And anything I ate kind of rushed through the system if you catch my drift… (I really don’t want to write about bowl movements on here…) So what I had that day was a banana, a cappuccino, some roasted tomato soup with a bit of pasta (TINY potion!) and some chili nuts. It was crazy how fast I would get full. I managed to eat like 5 spoonfuls of soup and I was done.

After that it has all been good. I’m still having small portions, which I’m really happy about. I get full really quickly, and feel satisfied even though I’ve only had a bit. Besides I’ve actually learned to listen to my body for when it’s hungry, and not just eat out of boredom or “because it’s lunchtime/dinnertime etc.”. All in all, the fasting has even been beneficial after it ended.

So if you’re wondering about trying to do a juice fast, I would definitely tell you to go for it. It’s not as hard as it seems, and it only gets easier the longer you go. That’s my experience at least, but I’ve read/heard this other places as well. It’s great either you just want to kickstart your new diet, shed the last few pounds/kilos, cleanse and detox your body, or shrink your stomach (the intestine) a bit. Good luck!
